Je n'ai utilisé CUPS que simplement avec une imprimante sur le port
parallèle mais je me suis souvenu avoir lu la solution à ton problème
dans la doc:
"This allows you to setup multiple print servers with identical printer
configurations and have the client machines send their print jobs to the
first available server. If one or more servers go down, the jobs are
automatically redirected to the servers that are running, providing
fail-safe printing."
