Non, cette limitations était surtout rencontrée en FAT32.
En ext2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ext2 :
"On Linux kernels prior to 2.6.17,[1] restrictions in the block driver mean that ext2 filesystems have a maximum file size of 2TiB."
