Debian Security Advisory DSA 274-2 security@???
http://www.debian.org/security/ Martin Schulze
April 7th, 2003 http://www.debian.org/security/faq
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Package : mutt
Vulnerability : buffer overflow
Problem-Type : remote
Debian-specific: no
CVE Id : CAN-2003-0167
Byrial Jensen discovered a couple of off-by-one buffer overflow in the
IMAP code of Mutt, a text-oriented mail reader supporting IMAP, MIME,
GPG, PGP and threading. This problem could potentially allow a remote
malicious IMAP server to cause a denial of service (crash) and
possibly execute arbitrary code via a specially crafted mail folder.
This advisory only covers the old stable distribution (potato) since
DSA 274-1 already fixed the stable distribution (woody). For the old
stable distribution (potato) this problem has been fixed in version
1.2.5-5.2.
We recommend that you upgrade your mutt package.
Upgrade Instructions
- --------------------
wget url
will fetch the file for you
dpkg -i file.deb
will install the referenced file.
If you are using the apt-get package manager, use the line for
sources.list as given below:
apt-get update
will update the internal database
apt-get upgrade
will install corrected packages
You may use an automated update by adding the resources from the
footer to the proper configuration.

match ?
exemple :
txt = "abbababababababa"
mm = re.compile("(ab)?")
rs = mm.findall(txt)
print rs
>>> txt = "abbababababababa"
>>> mm = re.compile("(ab){1}")
>>> rs = mm.findall(txt)
>>> print rs
>>> mm = re.compile("(.*)(ab){1}(.*)")
>>> rs = mm.findall(txt)
>>> print rs
[('abbababababab', 'ab', 'a')]
>>> mm = re.compile("(.*?)(ab){1}(.*?)")
>>> rs = mm.findall(txt)
>>> print rs
[('', 'ab', ''), ('b', 'ab', ''), ('', 'ab', ''), ('', 'ab', ''),
('', 'ab', ''), ('', 'ab', ''), ('', 'ab', '')]
Cordialement Philippe

Peut-être en regardant le code suivant :
http://pyserial.sourceforge.net/
This module capsulates the access for the serial port. It
provides backends for stadard Python running on Windows, Linux,
BSD (possibly any POSIX compilant system) and Jython. The module
named "serial" automaticaly selects the appropriate backed.

Debian Security Advisory DSA 279-1 security@???
http://www.debian.org/security/ Martin Schulze
April 7th, 2003 http://www.debian.org/security/faq
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Package : metrics
Vulnerability : insecure temporary file creation
Problem-Type : local
Debian-specific: no
CVE Id : CAN-2003-0202
Paul Szabo and Matt Zimmerman discoverd two similar problems in
metrics, a tools for software metrics. Two scripts in this package,
"halstead" and "gather_stats", open temporary files without taking
appropriate security precautions. "halstead" is installed as a user
program, while "gather_stats" is only used in an auxiliary script
included in the source code. These vulnerabilities could allow a
local attacker to overwrite files owned by the user running the
scripts, including root.
The stable distribution (woody) is not affected since it doesn't
contain a metrics package anymore.
For the old stable distribution (potato) this problem has been fixed
in version 1.0-1.1.
The unstable distribution (sid) is not affected since it doesn't
contain a metrics package anymore.
We recommend that you upgrade your metrics package.
Upgrade Instructions

jerome.kieffer-nospam => kieffer
( ping islay.dyndns.org )
tous mes mails ?
cat /var/spool/mail/kieffer| formail -s \
-I"To: jerome@???"|sendmail -oi -t

Apr 7 04:38:54 zamok postfix/smtpd[20814]: reject: RCPT from

cat kieffer | formail -s procmail
