or compatible processor
Pentium II 266MHz or faster, or equivalent
compatible processor, recommended
Multiprocessor systems supported
Enough memory to run the LinuxTM host
operating system
Plus memory required for each guest operating
system and applications
Minimum 96MB recommended
Video adapter supported by the XFree86 Server
(to take advantage of our full screen
option)
*The SGI® 320 and 540 Visual Workstations are
not standard architecture PCs and are
not currently supported by VMware for Windows
NT and Windows 2000. VMware is
uncertain if or when these products will be
supported.
Software requirements
1.VMware host operating system requirements
Standard Linux distributions with glibc
version 2 or higher and one of the following:
Kernel 2.0.32 or higher for non-SMP
systems
Kernel 2.2.0 for SMP systems
VMware will not run on systems that do not
meet these requirements.
2.VMware has been tested and is officially
supported on the following host operating
systems
Red Hat Linux 5.x and 6.0
Caldera OpenLinux 1.3, 2.2 and 2.3
SuSE Linux 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2
VMware may run on other Linux distributions;
attempting to do so is recommended for
expert Linux users only.
3.VMware requires an X-Server:
XFree86-3.3.3.1 or higher release
XFree86 version 3.3.4 or later server
