You need to know this:
I got this XF86Config file from a kind lady named Michele
Bini!
This file allows you to reach resolutions even over 1024x768
with any color depth.
The reason why a lot of people are having problems with this
video card seems to be
the fact that X wrongly recongizes the 3DImage AGP as a PCI, and
that only the lastest
version of XFree (starting 3.3.2) supports it. To force the
recognition of the card, you should
add the line 'Chipset "3DImage985' in the Device section of the
XF86Config file (like the one
below).
Prerequisite:
XFree86 3.3.2 installed
How to use it:
Copy the XF86Config file below, and put it in a place such
as /etc, deleting all other
previously installed ones (They might be in /etc/X11 or in
/usr/X11R6..).
Little Editing:
If you don't have a PS/2 mouse, you'll have to edit the
config file properly.
If your screen flickers, try to switch to other video modes
(through
CTRL-ALT-(PLUS/MINUS)).
DO NOT put replace the line 'Chipset "3DImage985' with
'Chipset "3DImage975'!!!!
